Biblical Reasonings based on The Teaching of Qedamawi Haile Sellassie
Yeshua ShalOm to All!
In this article, RasTafari Talmud is glad to share a few insights into The Priestly Blessing/Birkhat Kohanim (ברכת כהנים)/Barakh (בָּרַךְ) “Bless”/Kohen (כֹּהֵן) “Priest”.
Psalm 134:2 “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless HaShem (The Name: Qedamawi Haile Sellassie/See Matthew 28:19:Link Name Section)” (Compare Isaiah 62:2/Revelation 2:17/3:12/21:3). For Additional insight into Zion and “The Ark” Tebah (תֵּבָה)/Tabot (ታቦት)See Kebra Negast: Concerning the Glory of Kings.
In the time of Moses, this blessing was only to be pronounced upon Israel by The Kohanim (Son’s of Aaron; as Aaron served in the Office of High Priest; Compare Hebrews 4:14-16, 5:1-10, 6:13-20, 7). This particular blessing is found in Numbers 6:24-26, the entire instruction include verses 22,23,27. However, it should be understood within the fuller context of Numbers 6 which sets forth the Nazrite Vow.
As the Birkhat Kohanim directly proceeds the instruction regarding the Nazarite Vow, we should comprehend that the Hebrew Word Nazar (נָזַר) would mean to “separate”. More context is given in Hebrews 7:26: “For such an high priest [Iyesus Kristos/Yeshua HaMoshiYAH) became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;.” Prophetically, the Vow of Separation is intimately related to the Hebrew Word for “branch” Netzer ([נֵצֶר] Isaiah 11:1: And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots/compare Romans 11 [ To The Remnant and The Gentiles in Rome]) The Nazarite is a parabolic foreshadow of both Yeshua HaMoshiYAH “of Nazareth” (The Son) and Qedamawi Haile Sellassie (The Father) as The 2 Witnesses testifying of each other in The Holy Spirit. (See Zechariah 4:1-4/Revelation 11:3-4).
Although, The Father and The Son are One, the caption (below His Majesty Qedamawi Haile Sellassie may be more accurate as “Christ, that is to say Mashiakh (מָשִׁיחַ) /Messiah ‘Anointed” in Kingly Character. John 8:18 “I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.”
YAH Willing, we will further explore the following subject matter in future publications. Suffice it to say that, in essence, the Nazarite Vow is an example to separate from the doctrines of men so prevalent in today’s versions of “Judaism”and denominational “Christianity” (Matthew 15:9). We see this ante-type in John the Baptist (also a Nazarite in the proper line of Levitical Succession; [Future Study]) who performing the office to “fulfill all righteousness” transferred the priesthood, by the Bapitism of Yeshua HaMoshiYAH, to The Order of Melchizedek, in effect upon the Crucifixion (New Covenant/Contract Sealed by Blood. [See Psalm 110:4/ Matthew 3 Refer to Mikveh]/ John 19:30) had done in the time of Herod’s Temple. (Compare Psalm 68:31/Matthew 3:1-2/Revelation 18:2-4: From this Targum (תרגום)/”interpretation”-Egypt symbolizing the bondage of calcified religion and Babylon symbolizing the confusion of immoral dogma, faulty eschatology)
Now, getting to the Heart of the Matter. Lets look at 1) The Blessing itself. 2) The Position of the Symbolic Hand Gesture 3) The crux of The Blessing.
According to Midrash [( מדרש) Exegesis of Torah/that may be compiled and conveyed as Torah She’Be’al Peh (תורה שבעל פה) “Judaic Oral Tradtion/Reasonings””], relate that prior to pronouncing The Priestly Blessing, the Kohanim remove their shoes (Exodus 3:5/Joshua 5:15/Acts 7:33) and have their hands washed by the Levites (Psalm 24:3-6). It should be noted that The Singers and Players of Instruments (Psalm 68:25/87:7) are likened to many RasTafari Reggae Artists who faithfully proclaim The Gospel of the King of Kings, in the Spirit of Psalms, often calling souls to repentance. For those that are receptive, the scientific vibration of music along with an upright lyrical message carries the potential to cleanse the soul (from wicked places where we have been “feet” and evil things we have done “hands” (See John 13:14/Ephesians 5:25-27. Note: From a spiritual perspective the soul is often likened to a wife or Bride of Christ) It should be considered that most of our behaviors are an outer manifestation of our inner psychological or soul condition (ψυχή/psuche: thoughts, affections, emotions, desires, will/sense of self). Ultimately, for our soul to receive salvation, it is necessary for each individual to seek from The Word, in The Bible, to further realize the fullness of Reggae Music. The Teaching of His Majesty Qedamawi Haile Sellassie is “To make our wills obedient to good influences and to avoid evil, is to show the greatest wisdom. In order to follow this aim one must be guided by Living Faith. Progress without Living Faith is just like a life surrounded by unknown perils and can be compared to a body without a soul.”/”For my part I Glory in The Bible”
Bob Marley; Baptismal Name Birhan Sellassie/Light [of the] Trinity (ብርሃን ሥላሴ). Baptized by Arch Bishop Abuna Yesehaq, November 4, 1980. (It should be noted many of the current clergy of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is in a state of Apostasy).
The Blessing (Continued)
Proceeding the washing, the Kohanim then FOCUS: [Below: We will examine how concentration is an integral aspect of worship], cover their heads/arms with the tallit “prayer shawl” and recite (privately): “Blessed are Thou, YHWH, King of The Universe, Who makes us Holy with the Holiness of Aaron, and Commanded us to Bless HIS people Israel with LOVE. (See Psalm 133). The Blessing commences when the cantor says “Kohanim”.
On this wise ye shall bless the Children of Israel, saying to them: “YHWH Bless Thee and Guard Thee: YHWH Lift Up HIS Presence upon Thee and Set His Grace toward Thee: YHWH Lift Up His Presence upon Thee and Send Thee HIS Shalom.” [Hebrew Phonetic Translation: Y’Barekha YHWH weYeShamareikha: Yaer YHWH Panayew Aleikha weYeKhanokha: Yisa YHWH Panayew Aleikha weYaSeUm Lekha ShalOM] Following each of the three part pronouncement, the people receiving the blessing are to declare their Faith by declaring “Yes, May it BE HIS Will!” Ken Yehi Ratzon (כן יהי רצון)]: The people are also to FOCUS on hearing and receiving The Blessing and not to allow their mind to wander.
The Positioning of the Kohanim’s Hands
According to Midrash, the ShekanYAH (שְׁכִנָיה) /“Divine Presence (Masculine)” (from root Mishkan (מִשְׁכָּן [Feminine]) Taberncle/Shakan (שכן) “dwell”) would shine through the kohanim’s hands as the blessing was pronounced. To build on this tradition: By closely examining the depiction (above: hands in the Kaw position [כַּוִּ “window”]) the Kerubim (כְּרוּבִים: “Guardians of: The Garden of Eden” [Genesis 3:24]/”HaElohim’s Throne” [Psalm 45:6]/”Crown of the Ark of the Covenant”[Exodus 25:20-22/1 Samuel 6:2]) are clearly deciphered.
Moreover, as the kohanim places their hands in the position of Anah (עָנָה: “‘humble’ before YHWH”/Also, the study of Gemetria “Hebrew Math” we understand the glyph values equates to HaElohim’s Grace) the Hebrew letter Shin (ש, the Trinity) is easily deciphered: In Ethiopic the Shin is equivalent to Negusu Se ሠ as in Sellassie (ሥላሴ). Also, in this position the two Shins (ש) spread (Parash פָּרַשׂ/Exodus 37:9) unfolding as one. Midrash further relates that now the One Shin/Ahad Shin (אחד ש) becomes fused to form Shadai (שַׁדַּי) “Almighty” (See Genesis 17:Deuteronomy 6:4). However, the wings are not in the folded position (See Isaiah 22:22/ Revelation 3:8)
KawAnah (כַּוָּנָה) “Focus, Intention, Direction of the Heart/One Hebraic understanding would be (Kaw: Window Anah: [of YHWH’s] Answer of Grace”) “Hitting the Mark”
There are many midrashim that address the matter of performimg YHWH’s “Commandments”/Mitzwot (מִצְווֹת) with Love and Joy (especially in regard to the Priestly Blessing: to pronounce the Blessing upon Israel with Love) Nonetheless, we are able to discern the crux/cross of the matter by simply heeding what Adoneinu Yeshua HaMoshiYAH clarifies in Mark 12:29-31: “And Yeshua answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; YHWH our Sustainer is One: And thou shalt love the YHWH thy Sustainer with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor (BREAD COMPANION) as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”
Congratulations to All in the Light of The Cross! As the Hebrew Glyph for Taw (ת) could also be written as (+ or x/See also Revelation 9:4). The Heart Symbol (likened to the Hebrew letter Samekh (ס: Which appears in Torah following each verse of the 3 part blessing and in this context would refer to The Heart [as the true form of a human heart is even discerned in the Hebrew glyph and one interpretation of Samekh is to guard] See Proverbs 4:23/Acts 13:22), The Shield of Abraham (Genesis 15:1) The Star of Jacob (Numbers 24:17) and The Cross (Matthew 16:24/Mark 8:34/Luke 9:23)
It should be comprehended that “Sin” [Harmatano/ἁμαρτάνω] is defined as Missing the Mark. In Hebrew “Sin” is Khat’at (חטאת: from the root Khata (חטא) “To Miss”) Notice that the Hebrew Glyph Taw is added to form the word Khat’at. The Hebrew Glyph Samekh (ס) , also, looks very much like a window. As the Hebrew Glyph for Taw is the Scope/Site to aim for. Within This WordPic our mind’s eye (Psalm 32:8) is able to perceive The Cross, in that it establishes the Vertical; Peace with YHWH Elohim and the Horizontal; Peace with Our Brothers and Sisters.
To Conclude, although The Christ/”Anointed” Tree of Life, is beyond the scope of this study, it should be noted that the comprehension of [ת, +] is integral to understanding Tifaret [(תפארת)/ “Balance, Beauty, Compassion, Integration]. Word to the wise: “Qabalah” [קַבָּלָה] is “receiving” many study this fractal, in it’s modern perversion, not knowing what or from whom they are receiving/Thus “The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil). May many receive YHWH Da’at (יהוה דעת) “The Knowledge of YHWH”! 2 Peter 3:18 ” But grow in Grace, and in the Knowledge of Adoneinu, Moshienu Yeshua HaMashiakh/”Our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ”. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Qedamawi Haile Sellassie (King of Kings) Christmas Interview with Dr. Oswald Hoffman December 25, 1968.
Dr. Hoffman: Your Imperial Majesty, how does it seem to you the Apostle Paul meant by the statement, Faith works by love?H.I.M.:What St. Paul said here is not a mistaken statement. You all know what St. Paul was and what kind of work he was engaged in before his conversion. Later on, after his conversion he had faith and love, and if he had not had that he would not have taught people this in his epistles. Neither love nor faith are separable from each other. An elaboration of this is Paul’s exposition in one of his Epistles which speak of love and faith. Without love all of our human efforts in the sight of God can be useless. He loved us and on our behalf He was given as a ransom, and it was because of love and His love for us that He accomplished the act of love.
Wisdom of The EgyptS that Moses was learnt in? (Acts 7:22). Lets not get it twisted on some Zeitgeist Deception (The interpretation presented, from such a perspective, of H’RuY (ሕሩይ/Elect) “Horus” is also quite skewed.) If ones choose to decide that Yeshua HaMashiakh did not come in the flesh, it would be just as ignorant to deny that Qedamawi Haile Sellassie did not come in the flesh.
