Biblical Reasonings based on The Teaching of Qedamawi Haile Sellassie

Parashah 12 Vayechi פָּרָשָׁה וַיְחִי: The Gospel of His Majesty Concealed in Jacobs Blessings Part 1

Shalom! Parashah 12 Vayechi/Weyakhai  (“and He Lived”) may be interpreted in several different ways. The most evident interpretation pertains to, Our Patriarch Jacob, setting The House of Israel in Order. According to Hebrew custom, Jacob accounts for his life in his testimony and admonishes each of his son’s (which represent phases of his spiritual life experience). Moreover, if we pay careful attention, we will be able to percieve that Father Israel, in his testimony, is also acting as YHWH’s Prophet by foretelling Shemuwah Tobah BeMashiakh (שְׁמוּעָה טֹובָה בֵּמָשִׁיחַ)/”The Good News of Messiah [Gospel of Christ]” in His Majesty Qedamawi Haile Sellassie. Through this perception, we gain the ability to discern that the entire blessing of Jacob is Torah’s shadow type of the His Majesty’s Gospel. This interpretation is quite significant being that this Parashah reading is the fulfillment of the study of The Book of “Genesis”/Bereishit/BeRas’it (בְּרֵאשִׁית), the record of the fall and uprising of humanity. Whereas, “Exodus”/Shemot (שְׁמוֹת) is the Book that details Redemption.
 A full analysis of The Gospel of His Majesty, being contained in The Blessings of Jacob, is an extremely lengthy discourse. Proper dissemination of this topic, within context, would require a considerable amount of time and effort on the part of many biblical scholars and individuals well versed in The Utterances of His Majesty. However, after contemplating each of Jacob’s blessing to his sons, comparing them with Deuteronomy 33 and Revelation 7, along with other areas of scripture, the evidence is far too compelling to be left unexamined. The following presentation is merely is a general sketch and may contain errors. Nonetheless, by presenting it, I hope and pray that it will stimulate further interest, in the subject matter, and that brothers and sisters may come forward to contribute either by critique or additional commentary. In this Sabbath Portion Study, Israel gives his blessings to “The Son’s of Jacob” (the natural or physical black seed of Israel) and to Ephraim and Manasseh (the adopted children/whose portion, of inheritance, derive from Joseph [see Genesis 48:5,6,22]). Being that we, as RasTafari, recognize Bob Marley “Berhane Sellassie” as a type of Joseph, the Rhema Word /”Immediate Revelation” Template contained within this portion should be contemplated. The key to grasping this concept is found in Genesis 49:1 where Jacob pronounces “Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you IN THE LAST DAYS.” Again, the necessity for us to pay careful attention to the prophecy of Israel is emphasized in verse 2 where we, the Sons of Jacob, are told to Shema or hearken to Israel your father.
The Blessing of Jacob to Joseph/Ephraim and Manasseh:
 Before we look at The Blessings of Israel given to his sons (begotten from Leah, Rachel, Bilhah and Zilpah) let’s look at the Blessing of Ephraim and Manasseh (Jacob’s adopted sons.) In type, as RasTafari, we may find an special affinity in relating to Ephraim and Manasseh. In verse 5 Israel testifies “as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.” and in verse 16 it is recorded “let my name be named on them,”. Again, in Genesis 48:16, we find the word “lads” is used in reference to Ephraim and Manasseh. (The Hebrew word for “lad” being Na’ar (נַעַר) indicates scriptural significance/In Amharic this may be equivalent to the word Blatena (ብላቴና) which translates as a “little child” but also could carry the indication of an apprentice to a Royal Office) Matthew 18:3 “And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
In this present Revelation of RasTafari, it could be interpreted that Ephraim ([אֶפְרַיִם] which means doubly fruitful) could represent physical “Black” RasTafari Israel, including the “racially” mixed Tribes of Israel and, perhaps, the “Multitude of Gentiles” (Melo HaGoyim מְלֹֽא הַגֹּויִֽם) whom recognize The Davidic Monarchy and Qedamawi Haile Sellassie upon the Throne of YHWH (Ones whom choose to scoff please see Isaiah 62:2/Revelation 2:17/3:12 and interpret). This being said, “RasTafari Ephraim” regardless of earthly “national origin” is brought into The Heavenly Kingdom of Qedamawi Haile Sellassie, in and through Yeshua HaMashiakh. Scoffers should be mindful that Joseph’s wife Asenath was technically a Gentile. Manasseh ([מְנַשֶּׁה] which means “I have forgotten all my Father’s House”/which for the most part is true regarding the physical seed descendants of Israel) could represent “Black” Israel, who in Yeshua is yet to be brought into The Kingdom of Qedamawi Haile Sellassie/”The Father’s House of who they forgot”. To better grasp this  interpretation please see Ezekiel 37:16,19, concerning the stick of Judah and The Children of Israel his companions and the stick of Joseph for Ephraim and for the whole HOUSE of Israel his companions which were joined together as ONE. It should be emphasized that the blessing of the right hand upon Ephraim, was only greater in that Jacob proclaimed “his seed shall become a multitude of nations (or Goyim)”. At first, this interpretation may sound a bit peculiar but let us reflect on this stick that was in the hands of The Son of Man . Could this stick represent the Shepherds Staff?  If so, it must relate to what Yeshua had told us in John 10:16 “I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.”
 Lidj Teferi (ልጅ ተፈሪ) The Son of Man/The Man Child (See Revelation 12:5,13). NOTE: RasTafari Talmud does not regard The Aquarian Gospel as a factual record of the Life of Christ. However, it does contain may gems that further expound on certain principles of Torah.
Additionally, we see in Genesis 48:14 that Jacob wittingly guided his hand to for the sign of The Cross or the Taw (ת, x or + in the Ancient Hebrew). This detail is crucial because also mentioned ,in verse 16, is “The Angel”or Malek YHWH (מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה) “who redeemed Jacob from evil.” We know this to be the preincarnate Son or “Angel of YHWH’s Presence”, Yeshua HaMashiakh (see Genesis 28:12-21/32;24-30). Despite Jewish fables that deny the fulfillment of Torah, The Prophets and The Writings in Advent of Yeshua HaMashiakh as Mashiakh Ben Yosef/Ben Ephraim and Qedamawi Haile Sellassie as Mashiakh Ben Daivid (see Genesis 18:2/ where Shaloswh Enowshim [שְׁלֹשָׁה אֲנָשִׁים] “3 Men” are mentioned), we are able to present evidence through Mishnah, Midrash, Mazaroth, Qabalah, Gematria etc. etc. that would prove otherwise. However, that is beyond the scope of this study.
In regards to verse 20, “Elohim make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh”  this may be further explicated in Romans 11:25  “I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in” It may be that after the fulfillment of Romans 11:25 that Manasseh, or “the physical seed of Israel”, will be restored to their position in the Kingdom, as Matthew 20:16 reads  “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.” Furthermore, Ephraim does not appear to be numbered with the Tribes in Revelation 7:5-8 but may either be included in Joseph (see Genesis 48:6) or possibly numbered among the Nations, as in Revelations 7:9.
The blessing of Moses, to The Tribe of Joseph/Ephraim and Manasseh (Deuteronomy 33:13-17) encompasses all aspects of Spiritual Truth and Power. The final verse being “His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.” Thus, again we see a very strong correspondence between Joseph and RasTafari.  

Moving forward, we examine the Blessings of Jacob to his other 11 Sons in more detail.  For more insight into each of the life lessons and prophetical aspects that HaElohim revealed to each of the Sons of Israel please refer to the Apocryphal text TESTAMENT OF THE TWELVE PATRIARCHS. In addition, we should note that each Son may also represent an phase of Jacob’s maturity, or even an aspect our own Spiritual Growth in the Truth of His Majesty. That particular interpretation may be best sought out by each one of us, individually, through sincere prayer and reflection.
For the purposes of this dissemination, we will notice that Jacob’s Blessing upon his sons seem to categorically ordered in 4 Themes grouped in the blessing upon sets of 3 sons (We encounter a similar pattern again in Numbers 2, concerning the encampment of The Children of Israel).

The Blessing of Jacob to Rueben, Simeon and Levi:
To Rueben, his firstborn, Jacob declares quite a serious admonishment. He states “my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:” but then proceeds to chastise Rueben. Rueben’s falling short was that he defiled his fathers bed and this sin is again brought to mind in 1 Chronicles 5:1. This may symbolically represent the concept of seeing or perceiving with the carnal senses without regard for genuine morality. This principle is further demonstrated during this Portions Haftarah Reading in the depiction of Adonijah asking for Abishag, the Shummanite concumbine of His Father David ,to wife [in the Hebrew sense to implying intercourse /1 Kings 21-24). This would indicate a lack of honor on behalf of Adonijah towards his father (See Exodus 20:12/Ephesians 6:2). Yet Moses makes this plea, in Deuteronomy 33:6, “Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.”A key lesson found, in the Jacob’s pronouncement to Rueben, is realized by noting the phrase “Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel”. Water or Mayim ([מַיִם], in Hebrew, denotes illusions or transitory things. Thus, we should take heed to the council of Our Patriarch Jacob, as well as, to the explication of this phrase given by Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight” and furthermore in 1 Peter 1:8 ” Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see HIM not, yet having faith, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:” As we, in a sense, all are Rueben or (Behold a son or a daughter!!) as first fruits, by the adoption of Qedamawi Haile Sellassie, in and through the resurrection of Yeshua HaMashaikh (see Ephesians 1:5/1 Corinthians 15:23) The practical application is to exercise our faculty of Faith (symbolized by Peter/integrally related to “Hearing”/Simeon in the character of SimonPeter) during the development our spiritual perception as opposed to what we may see as physical appearances. Additionally, we should take note of the lesson depicted in Matthew 14:22-33 where Yeshua walks on Water or Mayim. This is to discern and not to pursue the illusions which we all may encounter in our daily walk. Our firm Faith is established by keeping our heart and mind focused on His Majesty’s testimony, of Yeshua “Salvation”, which is the reality of El Elohe Israel (אֵל אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל) “The Power of Israel”/The True and Living God/HaElohim revealed in the person of Qedamawi Haile Sellassie.
Simeon and Levi 
To Simeon and Levi, Jacob proclaims them as Brethren and are connected. Simeon denotes Hearing and Levi (The Priesthood/joined to the Bridegroom). Jacob denounces them as instruments of cruelty (or Hamas [חָמָס]in Hebrew [interesting coincidence with the terrorist group?] which translates as injustice, cruelty, or just plain ethically wrong). These are said to be in their habitation or mekerah (מְכֵרָה). In Amharic Mikrab (ምኲራብ) translates as “Synagogue”.  Many may think that the cruelty, mentioned here is referring to the actions perpetrated by Simeon and Levi against Shechem and the Tribe of Hamor. In a sense of human morality this may be so. However, the Testament of the Patriarchs would indicate otherwise. (Brothers and Sisters please read and discern for the I self.) From a more detailed perspective, we see in Jacob’s testimony “They slew a Man (Singular: ayish [אִישׁ])” and not a tribe. Thus, who was this man they slew? Could it have been Yeshua HaMashiakh or in character Qedamawi Haile Sellassie? Well, the key may be the words “in their selfwill they digged down a wall.” (Please see the Matter of Korah regarding” “Strange Fire” and WILL WORSHIP [Exodus 16]). To comprehend this perspective we must examine Isaiah 58 in particular verse 12 “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the broken wall, The restorer of paths to dwell in.” So, who is this thee and thou? We shall see in the proceeding blessing of Judah.
Before proceeding, let us address The Matter of Simeon or the faculty of “hearing” and it’s indespensible relationship of being joined to Levi/”The Priesthood”.  One interesting point is that, when The Children of Israel entered into The Promised Land, we see the portion allotted to Simeon was within the boundary of Judah. As we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation this matter should be of great importance to us. Thus, we look to Romans 10:17 which reads “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of HaElohim”. Yet, Yeshua HaMashiakh in Luke 8:18 tells us ” Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have” Being mindful of Ha Adon “The Master” Yeshua, we might take heed to what the so-called”ordained priests/pastors/preachers, etc.” profess about the Testimony Yeshua in regard to The Father or even about His Majesty’s Testimony of Yeshua? Have they taken heed to His Majesty’s Words? From our perspective, the answer would be “NO”. If the current priesthood, whom the people are joined to  by the hearing of their preaching be malicious in intent and motive against Yeshua HaMashaikh in His Majesty…Then… ARAR (אָרַר)!!! “Cursed” be their mouths for the strong speaking of wrath in excessive arrogance. These are the words of Our Patriarch Jacob (see Hebrew translation of Genesis 49:7). If they be in ignorance, then (Yihun! ይሁን) that is to say, “LET IT BE” to us the responsibility (through HIS Grace and Truth, Loving Kindness and Tender Mercies that endureth forever) to boldly proclaim the Good News of Glad tidings of HaMashiakh Yeshua in His Majesty! For Moses did pronounce upon Levi in Deuteronomy 33:8 “Let thy Thummim (תֻּמִּים)/”Perfection” and thy Uwrim (אוּרִים)/”Light” be with THY HOLY ONE, whom thou didst prove at Massah (מַסָּה) “Testing”, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah (מְרִיבָה) “Contention”. For the time being, let us understand that though after The Pattern of Levi, The New Priesthood is The Order of MelkeTzedek (מַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק My King is Righteous/see Hebrews 7). Thus, we should be mindful of Matthew 23:3 “All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.”
The Blessing of Jacob to Judah, Zebulun and Issachar: 
Moving forward, we examine The 2nd Theme of The 3 Sons Judah, Zebulon and Issachar. Herein, lies the beginning of the Revelation of The Gospel of His Majesty, in recovering Am Israel (עם ישראל) “The People of Israel” from the illusions of “Rueben”/Vision and Simeon”/Hearing proclaimed by the many Scribes and Pharisees of the Modern Priesthood/Levi.
First and Foremost, Jacob’s blessing announces The Kingdom Authority to be with Judah. This is Torah presenting, in type, that Salvation/”Yeshua HaMashiakh” and Dominion/”Qedamawi Haile Sellassie” would descend from the line of Judah. This is evidenced in Genesis Chapter 49 Verse 8. This fact is consummated throughout Scripture, recorded in The Gospel and Epistles but fully realized in The Book of Revelation, in particular Chapter 5 Verse 5.
Moreover, interesting details of this prophecy are found as we scrutinize the subsequent verses concerning Judah.
Verse 9 reads “Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an lioness (not “old lion”, although this analogy could also fit the Hebrew translation is Labiy [לָבִיא] Femine); who shall rouse him up?”
Verse 9 is referring to The Advent of Yeshua HaMashiakh/Mashiach Ben Joseph Ben Ephraim. The analogy as a lion’s whelp, denotes a young Lion, or Yeshua HaMashiakh when he seized the prey which is symbolic of the dominion of sin and death, in the earth. Yeshua, as the young lion, conquered sin and death when he took on our sinful flesh nature and was offered as an eternal sacrifice in our place and offering Eternal Life to all who have Faith in His Name. We could compare this interpretation with Ephesians 4:8 which reads “Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men” (also see Psalms 24:7,9/also refer to The Ethiopic Texts Mesthafe Henok “The Book of Enoch” (መጽሐፍ ሄኖክ) and Gedla Adam (ገድላ አዳም) “The Combat of Adam and Eve Against Satan”)  After, Yeshua’s resurrection he ascended or “gone up”, where he bowed (or kara [כָּרַע]:”stooped down”) presenting the reclaimed dominion to The Father, Qedamawi Haile Sellassie and is Enthroned with HIM. (See Revelation 7:17) In “couching” Rabatz (רָבַץ) ” Adonenu Yeshua, now, offers The Continual Shabbat Rest to His Beloved by inviting us to couch with Him. (See Matthew 12:8). HaMashiakh “Christ” is also likened to a lioness (also refer to the meaning of El Shaddai (אֵל שַׁדַּי): “Almighty” “Strong Breasted One: indicating nursing the young.” This analogy is strictly metaphoric, related to Hebrew Esoteric Metaphysics of the Soul, and is in no way any reference to physical gender. As a lioness, Yeshua has produced many cubs, through the adoption. In a sense, Yeshua is also our “Big Brother” who has brough us into The Royal House of The Davidic Monarchy or Zion.  The Kingdom or Priesthood is lion country.  If we saw the situation from YHWH’s viewpoint, we would realize that we represent a nation of lions. Toward men we are lambs following the Lamb; but toward Satan we are lion cubs. Many of us walking in The Way, Truth and Life of His Majesty may not have such a realization but Satan recognizes this fact. He knows that all the Faithful, in Yeshua, to The Glory of His Majesty are lion cubs in the process of maturing. Frequently we need to tell Satan, “Don’t come near me! Do you not know that my Father, Qedamawi Haile Sellassie, is The Conquering Lion of The Tribe of Judah?” Christ is the young lion, the couching lion, and the reproducing lioness, and we are The Father’s lion cubs. This is our fulfilled victory in Christ. This is why verse 8 says that Christ, typified by Judah, is to be praised and worshipped. We should, also, know that a lioness protects her cubs. We find this comfort in Psalm 125:2 that reads “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the YHWH is round about his people from henceforth even for ever”
Verse 10 is a direct reference to Mashiakh Ben David, in the Person of Qedamawi Haile Sellassie. Although, in the current KJV translation the verse already sufficiently conveys the essence of the inspiration. In Hebrew this verse might be better translated as “The Tribes (translated as Scepter/Shebet (שֵׁבֶט) in Hebrew) shall not depose Judah, nor the Law of His Teaching, until the obedience of the nations and shalom be to HIM.”
In verse 11, the analogy of binding the foal and asses colt to the vine and the choice vine may be interpreted as the work done or vehicle of accomplishing progress utilized (symbolized the by foal and asses colt). His Majesty testifies of His service to HA-Elohim being rooted in Yeshua. As His Majesty’s Children, we should recall a few Utterances of Our Father: “We were born of royal blood, authority is ours by Right and since our Lord the Creator has deemed, We might serve our people as a Father serves his Son, being a monarch is a great joy to us. It’s what We were born for and what We have always lived for.” His Majesty also clearly reminds us  “… may our kin and brothers who will rise up in the future take note of the word You have spoken For without me you can do nothing” (Excerpt Preface to My Life and Ethiopia’s Progress, Autobiography of Haile Selassie I) compare with John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” The second analogy may be understood by recognizing, in scripture, wine is usually symbolic of either bounty, gladness, doctrine or folly. It seems that in the case of verse 11 it represents doctrine or The doctrine of Salvation by Grace in and through Yeshua HaMashiakh which is our garment of righteousness that covers all sin. Thus, the analogy of “garments being washed in wine” may represent proper conduct according to proper doctrine or The Teaching of His Majesty. (Please refer to Dr. Oswald Hoffman’s Christmas Interview with His Majesty and take note of the several times His Majesty mentions Conduct). A parables that pertain to this perspective are Luke 5:36,37.
The remainder of the verse depicts clothes being stained with the blood of grapes. This would seems to indicate judgment upon the workers of inequity that refuse to repent. This analogy is used throughout scripture but most pronounced in Revelations 19:15 “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”

Apparently, Verse 12 indicates the glad invitation of His Majesty (symbolized by eyes red with wine) to His Teaching being that his teeth are white as milk. We compare this to Hebrew 5:13 “For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.” but furthermore we read in Matthew 21:16 ” And (The Scribes and Pharisees) said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Yeshua saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?” So we needn’t fret if we are yet unskillful but merely grow in His Grace.


The blessing of Zebulun is very interesting to contemplate and put into perspective. It reads “Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon.” The name Zebulun (זְבוּלוּן) means “exalted” or from the root Zabal (זָבַל) “to exalt; to honor”. Being that in biblical times ships and “havens” (Khowph [חוֹף]: Coast, Seaport) were synonymous with exporting goods. Furthermore, in Hebrew thought “the Sea” (Yam יָם) is often utilized in scripture to denote a Gentile mentality while Land (Eretz אֶרֶץ) would denote n Israelite perspective. Henceforth, we can see that the analogy given here is in regards to the transmission of The Gospel of His Majesty which we exalt and honor! Initially, this may see a bit farfetched. However, Matthew 4:15 indicates Zebulun to be in the district of Galilee (Galiyl [גָּלִיל]  A Circuit). Are we not using “a circuit” even in the modern sense to transmit and publish the Glad Tidings of His Majesty? Furthermore, Yeshua’s ministry began in Galilee. After Yeshua was resurrected by The Father, the angel charged Mary Magdalene and Mary “the less/Mother of James” to tell the disciples, “Behold, He goes before you into Galilee; there you shall see Him” (Matthew 28:7).  The disciples “went into Galilee, to the mountain where Yeshua appointed them “and it was there He said to them, “Go therefore and disciple all the nations” (Matthew 28:16, 19). It is also no coincidence that Zidon (צִידוֹן: Fishing) a heathen city outside the Holy Land is mentioned. This signifies that the Gospel of His Majesty is to be preached to all. In Matthew 4:19 Yeshua said “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”


The meaning of the name Issachar (יִשָּׂשׂכָר “There is recompense”) is a Hebrew compound word composed of Nasa (נָשָׂא: to lift up, exalt, support, aid, assist) and Sakar (שָׂכַר: to earn wages). The word “burden” mishpatim” (מִשְׁפְּתַיִם) would actually translate as  sheepfolds. As Issachar, faithful “disciples” students in life obedient to The Teaching of His Majesty ,we certainly are “couching” Rabatz (רָבַץ: Recall Yeshua as the Lion)between two sheepfolds. The sheepfold could be interpreted to represent any type of religion or spirituality. For the purposes of this dissemination, we perceive the two sheepfold’s to be the Lost Sheep of The House of Israel and Denominational Christianity. Many times as “The Strong Ass” whose purpose is to act, by His Will, as “a vehicle” utilized to carry the “Glad Tidings of Shalom on Earth and Goodwill to men!”. Nonetheless, we should never forget Our Patriarch Jacob’s blessing to us “he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.” Again, our good couching rest is continual in Yeshua. Yeshua HaMashiakh assures us in Matthew 11:12 “All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves.” In the opinion of the author, the final words of this blessing have be often misconstrued to read more as a curse. Perhaps, this is due to religious based trauma mind control or in seminary language DOGMA. In Hebrew, the word “servant” abad (עָבַד) does not carry the modern connotation. The true Judeo-Christian standards of a  accommodating a Hebrew “servant”, who is our brother or sister, takes the welfare of the servant into high consideration (see Exodus 21:5./Mark 12:31). Furthermore, the word abad (עָבַד), in scripture, is often used to signify the Holy Spirit or in a person whom The Holy Spirit dwells. Thus, the question should be posed “who receives “tribute” mas (מַס: forced service, serfdom, tribute, enforced payment)? If anyone replied that the IRS, State and Local, etc..etc.. They would be sadly mistaken. The logical answer would be the King, even The King of Kings Qedamawi Haile Sellassie in The Name of Iyesus Kristos! Nevertheless, the tribute due to His Majesty is of a spiritual nature. His Majesty desires our hearts to repent (Teshuwbah [תשובה], submit to His Testimony of Christ, learn His Covenant and Trust H.I.M. His Majesty doesn’t need fiat currency. HE is Earth’s Rightful Ruler and the earth is HIS and the Fullness thereof. It is our inheritance if we become mature enough to be good stewards of it. In Deuteronomy 18:19 all are admonished by YHWH/HE Who BE who HE BE “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him”
